About the Foundation
The Catherine Boulay Foundation was founded in 2007 by Dr. Richard (Rick) Boulay and his wife, Julie Bolton, in honor of Rick's grandmother, Catherine, who passed away from cancer when he was young. As a registered 501(c)(3) not-for-profit charitable organization, the foundation's mission is to support the journey through cancer...and beyond. The cancer journey is not limited to patients, but one that caregivers and families must make as well.
When people think of cancer, they tend to focus on the diagnosis and treatment; but the journey is so much more than that. While early detection, prevention, and treatment are important, cancer survivors face numerous physical, psychological, social, spiritual, and financial issues well past diagnosis and treatment. A primary goal of the Catherine Boulay Foundation and this Web site is to address those issues for patients, caregivers, and families.
We believe that, collectively, we have the means to prevent cancers through education, increase cure rate through research, and most importantly improve the quality of life of those with cancer and their families by sharing love, kindness, support, and wisdom from those who have traveled this journey before.
